Radiation Environment Management
Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) is an organization in Kuwait which engages in scientific and applied research for several purposes, including preserving the environment, serving the economy, advising the government of scientific issues, and others.
Objectives of DESSAK Project

The DESSAK (Development of an Environmental Decision Support System for Radio-Ecologically Sensitive Areas in Kuwait) project aims to build the foundation for a sound and robust radionuclide-based EDSS by meeting the following objectives :
-To compile and collate existing local radioecological/spatial (GIS) /temporal data and store them in a database;
-To establish a national radioecological library/ repository
-To design and execution of experiments to generate time-dependence leaching and uptake of selected radionuclides for site specific in Kuwait.
-To perform different scenarios of dose modelling using the radiological assessment models of the radiologically site specific parameters.
MODARIA I and II - Modelling and Data for Radiological Impact Assessments, IAEA Project
In frame of Working Group 3 - Assessments and Control of Exposures to the Public and Biota for Planned Releases to the Environment of MODARIA II project we are working (Subgroup 3) on collecting the radioecological data for arid regions. These data were combined into a two databases: one for transfer parameters soil-to-plant and plant-to-animals and second for global deposition and NORM concentration in soils of arid regions.
